By utilizing a hybrid model, we shifted all heavy database operations and builds to low-cost local hardware, keeping only a $10/month server active for our public website, saving thousands in ongoing fees.

For our balcony-prototype thermal storage cells and patent development, we implemented a complete remote IoT telemetry network. Using Node-RED at the edge, PostgreSQL on server nodes, and a responsive Grafana dashboard, we enabled real-time monitoring of thermal cells running at temperatures up to 600°C. The system provides sub-second monitoring, alerts for limit excursions, and secure remote VPN/ZeroTier backhaul.
